Hi, my name is Olivia Banbury, I will graduate in 2021 and am currently playing as a starting outside back for Sierra Surf 03/04 MM. We are currently ranked 3rd in Nevada. One of my biggest assets is that I am a team player who focuses both on the field and in the classroom. I would be best described as spirited, confident, and competitive. I have a 4.6 GPA and am academically ranked in the top 11% of my class.
I am starting my senior year at McQueen High School in Reno, NV where I am a leader and starter on the varsity soccer team. I was awarded the MVP award my freshman year on JV. In my sophomore and junior years, I was a starter on the Varsity team. Both years I was awarded All-League Northern Nevada 2nd Team Defender and made Nevada All-State Academic Team. I played on the Northern Nevada ODP Team and was selected to attend the regional camp in 2019. I have been a starter with my club team San Juan Soccer Club 04/03 Composite Spirits since 2016. I have competed in high-level tournaments and showcases where my team consistently places as a finalist or champion. My team was the 2017 Surf Cup Champions- Super White, 2018 Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup Finalists- Chapman Auto Group, 2018 Manchester City Cup Champions- White Group, 2018 CRL Showcase U16 Champions, 2018 Davis Legacy College Showcase Semi-Finalists- Premier Group, 2019 Vegas Cup Semi-Finalists- Gold Group, 2019 President’s Day Tournament Semi-Finalists- Red Group, 2019 MVLA Bay Area Spring Cup Champion, 2019 Nexen Manchester City Cup Finalist, 2019 Surf Cup Semi-Finalist, 2020 Vegas Cup MLK Weekend Champion, and 2020 COPA Surf Champion.
I am an excellent student and I take my education seriously. I am currently undecided on a major but am interested in pre-law or pre-med. I’m a member of the Leadership program at my high school. I was elected as the Student Body Secretary and Treasurer for my senior year. I am an active member of my community, I co-chaired and organized an event to raise money for breast cancer, which raised over $1,000.
Throughout my life, soccer has taught me some of the traits I value most such as commitment, responsibility, determination, and perseverance. One of my unique traits is my innate ability to see the field and to keep calm under pressure.
I hope to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level next year as I continue my education. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Olivia
