My name is Betsy Fellows. I have loved soccer since I was in first grade, when I played it as recess and was the only girl on the field. In fifth grade I had my first actual opportunity to play on a league team. It was then when I started getting goalie training and my love for soccer grew even more. It was also then when I realized I had a gift for it. While playing soccer I have learned that I am very competitive and the I cherish being part of a team. I have also learned that I have to push myself in order to succeed. Because of soccer I have become more confident in my skills and abilities on and off the field. As a goalie, when I get scored on, I am able to get up and focus on the next ball. I also communicate well with my defenders and the rest of the team. These are just a few of the many reasons why soccer has played a major role in my life.
I have straight A's, and it is my goal to continue having straight A's throughout high school and college. I am currently taking two honors classes, which is all the available honors classes I was presented the opportunity to take as a sophomore, and I will continue this path with AP classes my junior and senior years. My goal is to become an Aerospace Engineer and get at least my master's degree. My goal as a college player is to be someone who is looked up to, shows serious work ethic, exhibits dedication to soccer, and respects the team. Living in rural Nevada and playing on small teams, I have not had as many opportunities for goalie training. To make myself a better goalie, I watch videos online, seek coaching outside my regular practice, and go to camps. I work hard to use the skills I have learned in my practice and games. I look forward to continuing to learn and improve my skills as a goalie at a college level.
