Hi my name is Isabella “Izzy” Aftanis and ever since I was 7 years old I've had a passion for soccer. As I've grown so has my love for soccer, not just because it is a source of happiness for me, but because it has taught me valuable life lessons. For example, being a student-athlete has taught me time management, teamwork makes the dream work, determination, passion and to be diligent. Soccer also has taught me that nothing comes easy and you have to work hard for what you want in life. I learned this first hand, after tearing my ACL twice. I have learned that with hard work and a little blood, sweat and tears, you can over come anything. Everyday that I had physical therapy, or my first practice or training at the gym I had coming back to the beautiful game in my sight.
Education is also very important to me and has always been. I set high goals in and out of the classroom for myself. I strive to get straight A's, remain in all honors course while maintain a 4.0 GPA. I am very interested in studying something along the line of biology. Not sure if I want to go medical or environmental yet. To achieve this goal, I am looking for a college that stresses the importance of an education, and for soccer. I am looking for a team hungry for championships, good team chemistry and prepares me to take the sport on professionally. I am looking forward to an experience I'll never forget!
