Soccer has been one of the biggest in activities to shape my life. Since first grade when I first started playing soccer on a recreational team it has always been something I have looked forward to. I never get tired of going to practice and training. I am always happiest when I'm on the field. To me, soccer has always been more than hobby or activity, it’s a way to grow as an athlete, but also taught me about hard work and how it pays off, and above all how to be a team player and to be a leader while truly contributing to my happiness in life.
I’m so proud to be part of a team who and work with an amazing couch who pushes me to always be my best on and off the field. To train hard to improve get the success I want in life. Soccer has definitely been one of the few things that I’ve been able to maintain a passion for throughout my whole life. I am proud of my accomplishments and also the accomplishments of my team. Soccer has helped shape me into a a committed, responsible person, and use them in my everyday life. Other than school, soccer has been one of the best teachers of my life. The many ups and downs throughout the season and the many lessons a tough loss can teach your helps me grow as an athlete and person and makes me love the game even more.
Soccer has taught me to be responsible and committed to my school work as well. If I study hard and get good grades, it helps me to work towards my future career and open up many opportunities in a career and beyond. hopefully on and off the field.
One of the most important things being on a team has taught me is leadership. As I've grown as a player and aged into the "senior" players I realized that my younger team mates look up to me, they look for my approval when they play. They ask my advice. I have enjoyed teaching them what I've been taught and doing it in a way that is respectful and not degrading but giving what I learned to someone younger than me who is eager to learn and loves the game as much as I do. I take the same view from my coaches and peers. I am never too old to learn and improve myself and that is my goal moving forward. To always try to better myself and improve because in the end my success is a success for my entire team.
