“Playing with your feet is one thing playing with your heart is another” Megan Rapinoe. I have loved playing soccer since I was 4 years old. I’ve had long term and short term goals since I was very young. I have always been dedicated and self motivated. For me, there's no such thing as a day off. On days “off” I am outside with my ball or on the track.
I started paying competitive travel soccer when I was 7. My first competitive team I played for was the South Jersey Elite Barons. Since my start at 4 years old during the winter I play Futsal, which allows me to work on my speed of play, decision making and ball control. What makes me a very good soccer player is my vision on the field and my passing skills. I play center mid because I see the passes and think three plays ahead of what is happening. Also I am a very technical player. I've worked on my foot skills since I started playing and have continued to work on them over the years. Along with footwork I have a great work ethic and I’m very coachable.
I am a leader on and off the field, I communicate with everyone on the field. I volunteer for the mentoring program at South Jersey Elite Barons. In the mentoring program the older players help train the younger players. I enjoy working with the younger players while passing along my passion for the game. During the summer of 2017 I earned my US Youth Soccer F coaching license. I chose to get my coaching license to give back to the sport that has given so much to me.
In 2017 my high school team went 20-4. We won the Cape Atlantic league and the South Jersey Group III Championship. In the South Jersey Group III final, my coach asked for volunteers to take penalties after double overtime. I was the only one on my team to volunteer. I took the first penalty kick. I was one of the only two players to score their penalty kick to win the game. Academically, I have done very well this year, making distinguished honors the first marking period. I plan to continue academic excellence through the rest of my high school career . I plan to major in athletic training or exercise science. During my free time at school, I work with our athletic trainer observing her and learning.
