My name is Alexandra Ortega and I am part of the graduating class of 2024. I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old, specifically Academy level soccer since I was 7. For club, I am the captain and starting center back for the Cedar Stars Bergen Girls 06 GA (Girls Academy) team. I have been captain of my team for 5 years because of my natural leader instinct, not only by my words but also by my actions on and off the field. In High School soccer, I made the Varsity team freshman year and earned my starting position as the 6. I was the only freshman in my conference to make All County and NJAC First Team All Conference. In addition, I was nominated to be NJ’s top freshman girls soccer player of the year. Sophomore year I earned my starting position at the 8, I made NJAC First Team all Conference, received the Overall MVP (for my team), received Honorable Mention from the county, and I won NJGSCA sectional recognition (the first ever sophomore for PTHS to be given this honor). This award means that I was recognized and voted on from coaches throughout my section!
