Hello! My name is Makenzie Kleinsteuber, I’m 18 years old, and I play for the Carlsbad Varsity soccer team in New Mexico. My ultimate college goal is to play competitive soccer and graduate with an excellent education.
I started playing soccer when I was around 8 years old and have played on several club teams including: Four Corners United, FC Dallas, and Statik FC (Albuquerque and Dallas regions).
My freshman year I had a tough fall and tore my ACL. Like most truly competitive athletes, this experience allowed me to gain perspective on my strengths as an athlete and person. It was a gift in disguise as I learned the true meaning of perseverance. “you never stay the same, you only get better or worse”. Mentally I took a huge step above all my peers as I went from crutching around school to reclaiming my spot; as a starting forward on the soccer field.
In the future I plan on going into the medical field. I’m going to follow in my mothers footsteps and become a doctor. I have a great work ethic and once I set my mind on something, there's no going back.
I have dreamed of playing college soccer and through hard work and dedication I believe I will make an immediate and lasting impact on your team!
Thank you for your time and have a great day.
