Personal Statement

My name is Vanessa Van Slyke, and I am going into my Senior year at Canajoharie High School. I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember. I am the most comfortable as an outside-mid , but I can play anywhere on the field that I’m needed. My goal is to be a better person, physically and mentally. I always strive to be the best version of myself. What makes me different from other recruits is that I can balance my academics and athletics while coming out strong in both. Also, I am very coachable, I take advice and criticism very well because I always want to better myself. I have great passing skills, and I have always been able to tell where to pass the ball at the right time, often without even looking. I am a leader on and off the field, and always try to bring out the positive in every situation.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
