I've been playing soccer since I was 3 years old and as I grew, I fell in love with the game. I started playing soccer on a summer recreational team and once I was old enough, I joined an indoor house league that played only during the winter months. I was involved with this house league for a few years until I joined a travel team. I now play soccer all year long between indoor travel, outdoor travel, and JV/Varsity. Our travel team plays together indoor during the winter months and outdoor during the summer months. There is about a 2-week break when travel ends in July and practice for JV/Varsity starts in August.
August 2018 on my first year on JV (Freshman), I was named alternate captain. August 2019 on my second year of JV (Sophomore), I was named head captain of the team by my coach. I also received an award certificate at the end of the season for "leadership."
Spring 2019, I decided to try something new. I joined the JV Track & Field team. I enjoyed it and the running kept me ready for travel soccer. During our winter indoor season of travel soccer (2019), I volunteered with Top Soccer. Top Soccer allowed us to teach soccer and play soccer with kids who have disabilities. Winter 2019/2020, I once again tried something new. I participated in Unified Bowling with kids who have disabilities. Outside of school and travel soccer, I also do dance. I have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I currently take tap, jazz, lyrical, and hiphop. I am also on the performance team which allows me to dance at community events and charities, as well as participate in local parades. I have been assistant teaching the younger kids in hiphop also since 2017.
My short-term goals are to be on the Varsity soccer team and eventually play during college. I want to continue dancing. I also want to continue to volunteer with children in the community.
In academics, I received the Presidential Award at the end of 8th grade (June 2018) for having a 90% or higher GPA during all 4 years of middle school.
I enjoy being involved in my school. I volunteer in the concessions at the home football games for JV and Varsity. I have donated my hair twice to Children with Hair Loss.
I am interested in pursuing education in law enforcement that would allow me to get into the police academy. I would like to pursue a career as a police officer working with the K9 unit.
