My name is Gemma Starrs, and I am currently a junior at River Valley High School outside of Marion, Ohio. I currently play soccer for my high school team at River Valley and for a club team called Heart of Ohio Elite out of the Mt. Vernon, Ohio area. I am 5 feet 7inches, and my positions I play are anywhere from a 6(midfielder) or 7/11 (wing attacker), but I thrive at playing an 8 as a box to box midfielder. I am also a pole vaulter on my high school track team, where I currently jump 11 feet. I currently have a 2.89 GPA, and an ACT score of 19. I want to study some kind of Exercise Science, Physical Therapy or Massage Therapy in college and the Health and Exercise Science department. My biggest assets on the soccer field are that I am excellent at finding and using space and driving 1v1 on the goal to create chances for my team to score. I am comfortable in the middle of the field or coming in from both the right or left side. This past season saw me take on a leadership role for our high school team, as we had the best record in school history. at 10-5-3. The biggest highlight of that season was the goal I scored to help our team to our first ever district tournament win in October. I have led my high school team in assists the past two seasons and have been a true weapon at combining with our other midfielders/forwards to create scoring opportunities for our team.
Sincerely,
Gemma Starrs
