I have an all-consuming love for the game of soccer, and am super coachable. I love working towards a common goal with teammates, have what it takes to be a leader, but I also know when to follow. What separates me from others athletically is my speed. Running fast comes naturally to me, and I am trying to up my endurance as much as possible. I do this by joining My High School Cross Country team. Academically, my hard work ethic and ability to manage multiple sports, extracurriculars and volunteer work, has led me to two honors rolls already in my young High School career. I am on top of my studies and know how to balance them with my sports and other activities. I've also shown leadership through joining a few committees, such as the Student Athletics Leadership Team and I am often called upon by teachers to represent my class or my school in various ways. Learning to voice my opinions and speak my own truth has been something I work on as well. Most recently, participating in a poetry group that competes at a city wide competition, Louder Than A Bomb, has proven to be incredibly empowering. I finished in the top 10 citywide my first year. My goals for a college level team would be to secure my spot as a starter for the season, and while continuously growing, help to elevate my team to achieve at a high level. The field is my happy place. What I have learned is that heart will take you far. There are literally millions of players. I may sometimes get out-skilled, but I will never get outworked. I feel confident in saying that feedback I most often receive from coaches, teachers, and most I encounter is, that I "amaze" them with my self-discipline and hard work. To me, there's nothing especially amazing about me. I just work hard because that's how I'm built. I pursue my interests with everything I have. If I'm going to do something, I will do it to the best of my ability every day. If I can accomplish that, and at the end of the day still hear people say I'm a nice person, a dependable teammate, and a leader-by-example, I will be proud of that. Overall, my number one aspiration as a person and a player, is to better myself while also bettering those around me along the way.
