My name is Tatum Strayer, and I desire to play soccer at the collegiate level at a school where I can pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. My goal is to be a paramedic/firefighter one day, and a degree in nursing would be the first great step towards achieving that goal. My Mom has been a big inspiration to me in seeking this degree, especially during the COVID-19 crisis, as she is a nurse and has bravely worked to help take care of those who are sick.
Something that makes me stand out from other recruits is my hard work ethic. I have learned that many of the goals and dreams we have in life are only achieved through perseverance and a non-relenting dedication in pursuing those goals. I believe that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength, and that makes me work harder to press on towards that which he has planned for me. Another quality that makes me stand out is my coachability. I listen and respond well when I am given instructions and correction, because I know that makes me stronger as a player and a student. Although learning can be tough sometimes, I enjoy growing in who I am and in becoming the best version of myself that I can be. One of my favorite things about soccer is getting to know my teammates, and I'm definitely a team-player. I have loved getting to grow as a family with my teammates over the past several years, and it has made my passion for playing soccer even stronger.
I am excited for the next few years and for the opportunity to grow as a soccer player and as a person.
