Kate Stephens '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello!

I am Kate and I am currently a junior at Edgewood High School in Trenton, Ohio, where I just finished my third season as a varsity starter.  I was excited to earn a varsity roster spot as a freshman based upon my work ethic as well as performance on the field.  During my sophomore season I took on an increased role as a leader and became a close friend to the freshman player I mentored.   As an upperclassmen this year,  I continued to grow my leadership role both on and off of the field. 

While I typically play the six, or defensive mid, I moved to center defender for the spring 2021 club season due to multiple injuries and we won the President's Cup that year.  We then represented Ohio in the Midwest Regional Tournament in June 2021.    We were proud to win the President's Cup again in May 2022 and again represented Ohio at the Midwest Regional Tournament  in St. Louis, where I played the eight,  the six and the four.  I am proficient as  an outside defender,  center defender,  outside mid,  attacking mid, defensive mid and outside mid.  I just love to play the game I have adored ever since I was six years old.

I attended a Catholic elementary school kindergarten through 8th grade and currently attend very suburban division one high school.  I plan on a medical career in nursing and am interested in higher education with small, personalized classes.  I would prefer to stay in the midwest region in or around Ohio,  but am open to other areas if the fit is right for me.
