I was adopted by my mother as an infant. My Mom was a college athlete also. Not only do my mom and I have a connection in that we enjoy playing/watching sports, we both agree that sports provides character building in an individual. Beyond the fact that playing sports is fun with teammates who become friends and “like” family, sports have taught me teamwork, leadership, social skills, confidence, healthy competition and stronger mental health. It’s these traits that I expect will give me long term life skills.
