Hi, my name is Paetyn Eyster and I have been raised in the small town of Halifax PA. My passion for soccer started a lot later than most other athletes. I did not start playing soccer until I was 11 years old, most people who have this passion start a lot sooner. Although it is different for me. I am now 16 so I have only been playing for 5 years and in those 5 years I've grown to absolutely love this sport.
When I first started playing I played for a small rec league that was not competitive at all. That is where I learned to love this sport. I now play with my high school team, my indoor winter team, and my club team. Since I come from a very small school it is hard to get noticed because we barely have enough players to field a team. However, although our numbers may be small we have the passion of a big team. In our first game of the season, we won 13-0, small does not equal weak. Because I am with a small team I have learned to be extremely adaptable which would make me good for the college level. We only have 14 girls signed up so games are sometimes difficult. I am a starter and I play the entire game because of this, I have great endurance and speed. I am super adaptable in mostly all the positions on the field. I play mainly as an outside midfielder and forward however, I have also played as an inside midfielder, central midfielder, and an outside defender. I always have a positive attitude and am willing to take any criticisms and critiques you have. All I want to do is improve my abilities and I will do whatever you say to do so. I also always encourage all the other girls on the team to not give up. It can be hard when you only have 14 girls but one persons positive mind can rub off on everyone else and we can succeed together.
A little about me besides soccer is that although I live in Halifax and play soccer for them I go to Dauphin County Technical School in Harrisburg PA. In this school, I study cosmetology and I will have my license before I graduate high school. I want to major in pre-med in college so I can later become a dermatologist. Just by saying that, you can tell how determined and passionate I am. I will have to go to school for 12 years and that's got to take a lot of determination. I not only play soccer but I'm also involved in basketball and gymnastics. In school I am a straight A student with a 4.0 GPA, I am in the National Honors Society and volunteer each month. School is very important to me I always strive to be my best. My biggest opponent in life is myself, I always strive to do more than is ever possible. I rarely have free time with my extremely busy schedule between sports and my two jobs. With this, I have developed very good time management which will make me successful in juggling college soccer and my academics. Although soccer is amazing I am well aware that academics will always come first.
Thank you for taking the time to read this soccer is really my biggest passion and I want to continue to do it in the future. I believe that I have the skills and the head space to be a college soccer athlete. If you have any questions email or text me at: [email protected] or (717) 574-7929
