Personal Statement

I would like to attend a medium size liberal arts school to major in Secondary Education and minor in either History or English. However, since I am not 100% sure of what I would like to do, going to a strong liberal arts school can help give me opportunities to discover new things in new fields. While attending college I would like to be on the school's women's soccer team. Starting high school playing soccer helped me make friendships even before school started. The friendships I made are extremely strong and showed me that I already had 30 plus girls in school that had my back, which is really cool. Having that in college would be another great experience that would most definitely make my college experience more ideal.

I believe I am a strong candidate for any team because I am a very friendly person, I work hard, and push myself to be the best I can be. A big thing for me is that I am also easy going and feel that my personality is very relaxed and assists the team in having a family mentality. I work extremely hard to be the best I can be not only for myself but, more importantly, to be the best I can be for my team. I want my team to feel safe with me knowing I always have their back and will be there for them on and off the field.

My strengths include my personality and my work ethic. In school I try my best and get the help I need. I challenge myself and when I do not do well on an assignment or test, I look at what I did wrong and make it a learning experience so I know what to change in the future. I do the same thing in soccer. If I see in practice or in a game that I messed something up I will ask my coach or trainer "What should I have done there?" I try to be a friend to all and help everyone out when I can.  I value having a family environment and would want to be part of a team with similar priorities. I get along well with all different types of people and truly never have had any problems with my teammates, co-workers, or friends.

I started my freshman year in goal and felt that I was extremely lucky to have that type of experience. From my first season I have had a lot of experience playing with people who exhibit extremely different styles of play. I have learned how to adapt to changing environments and thrive in situations that stretch beyond my comfort zone. I trust my coaches 100% and believe they know what is best for myself and my team. I know that I will truly enjoy playing the sport I love in college and am extremely excited to begin this process.
