Personal Statement

“You are your only limit”

From the time I was 4 years old, soccer became an extension of myself. With the encouragement of my parents and coaches over the years, I found that soccer was as much a part of me as I was a part of it. On the field with the ball at my feet, my confidence soared. Practice helped me make progress, not only in my play, but with my attitude. It wasn’t work, it was (and is) my passion. The teams I have played with and the coaches allowed me opportunities to learn how to work as a team and build lasting relationships both on and off of the field.

This discipline has brought me much success academically as well. I envision my college years to be a time of personal growth. I plan to explore the field of psychology that will position me well for the challenge of graduate school and my passion to become specialized in sports psychology. On the field, I plan to be a dynamic player and a positive influence on the team.

As I grow, both physically and mentally, throughout my college soccer career, I will strive to be an asset, a player, and a leader who possesses versatility. Versatility is the key to high-performing relationships and overall success, no matter what we choose to do or which path we take. I believe that in today's volatile and fast moving world, leadership requires the full range of talents. I want to be that dynamic player, that positive influence - in the classroom, on the field and beyond.

Perseverance has gotten me here. My parents have gotten me here. Growing up in a small town has its challenges, but every challenge is an opportunity that leads to growth. The more I grow, the farther I will go. Distance is not an obstacle. No matter what, conducting myself with honor and respect on and off of the field is of great importance to me - knowing and believing that the way I carry myself reflects on my team, my coaches, the school I attend, and the person I want to become.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
