I started playing soccer when I was five years old. My Dad, once a college player and now an amazing coach, has always been my main influence. He has always encouraged me to be the best I can whether it was as a coach or as a parent. Being apart of many teams has allowed me to develop many skills useful as both a player and a student. Over the past 11 years, soccer has taught me the values and importance of commitment, teamwork, and having a high work ethic.
As shown in my profile, I am on the shorter side. There have been many times where that characteristic has been frowned upon. Instead of seeing the negatives of being small, I have learned to channel those thoughts and comments and use them as my motivation. My speed, strength, and skill on the field makes up for being shorter than most other players.
My main academic goals for high school are to maintain distinguished honor roll while being an active member of the National Honor Society. I also plan to play at the varsity level for my school, as I have in my freshmen, sophomore, and now junior year. My hard work and determination has allowed me to become the junior captain of my high school team. With my adaptability, leadership, and vocalization skills, I feel I would be a great addition to a college team.
