Soccer has been my passion ever since I could walk. I joined my first club team when I was in first grade, where I met teammates who turned into my family over the next several years of playing together. Along the way, we won state championships, met with collegiate soccer players, and trained with college coaches. Ever since then, it has been my one goal to continue my athletic career in college. With the hard work and dedication I have for this sport, I am confident I can achieve that.
I've played sweeper throughout my entire club career. However, it was not until I stepped onto the high school field when I recognized my aptitude for playing offense, and I quickly became the team's starting center midfielder. I was the team's playmaker, due to my strength of reading the field and knowing what will happen before it happens. Having experience on the field for as long as I have has granted me the sharpest soccer IQ that simply cannot be taught. Although nerve-wracking at first, stepping out of my comfort zone and venturing into different positions has illustrated my versatility and capability to play any position strongly.
Leadership, both on and off the field, is very important to me. I was the captain of my club team when I was younger, my co-ed team in middle school, and high school team during my sophomore and current junior year. I like to lead by example and be a person my teammates can look up to. However, that doesn't mean that I don't like to have fun or be goofy with my teammates, but when it's time to zone in and focus, I know how to do so. In school, I am a leader in my community as well. I was elected as the class president in my freshman, sophomore, and junior year, where I share the same principles of my leadership from soccer. I was also awarded a scholarship for my capacity as a leader, as well as a full merit scholarship in sixth grade to my current institution, Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School.
