I have been playing soccer since I was three years old. It has always been my biggest passion and I have always had the desire to get better and to be able to play against the best possible athletes. Before I started playing goalkeeper, I started as a field player. I have always loved the game no matter where I am put to play.
During my freshman year I started varsity. After the season ended, I was named All-Conf. 2nd team goalkeeper and I broke the record in my school for most saves made in one game. This past season I started varsity in the games I got to play. Before the season begun, I tore the cartilage in my right hip and I missed over half of my season. I underwent surgery in late October and I am on the road to recovery! My injury has built me into a better player. It is teaching me patience and how to be the best possible team player I can be. Watching others play the sport I love is tough but it makes me eager to get back to doing what I love.
I would be a good addition to the team because I can direct people in the box well, I have very strong leadership skills, and I am also very open to coaching. My goal is to become the best athlete I can be. On and off the pitch, I strive to be a student leader that my peers can reach out to and trust. One of the reasons I love soccer so much is because of the team aspect. Having the sense of unity a team has is one like no other aspect in my life can give me.
Academics have always played a crucial role in my life. I am looking for a college that will be able to provide a space where they push their athletes to continually grow on the field and in the classroom. My main goal is to be able to find a university where I fit into their soccer program and academic program the best; to be challenged both on and off the field.
