Going from a small catholic middle school to a public high school was difficult in terms of playing soccer. All of the other girls in my grade played together for their middle school soccer team and knew each other well. Going into my freshman year preseason, I was just hoping not to get cut. When the coach told me I would be a swing player, I was ecstatic. Then during the off season of my sophomore and junior year I really worked to improve my skill. Both of those years my hard work payed off and I made varsity. I started playing soccer when I was young, about 6 or 7, and I have never stopped since. I can't imagine not playing, which is also a reason I hope to play in college.
Through soccer I realized how determined I could be. Between balancing soccer, National Honors Society, and keeping straight A's in all honors and AP classes, I learned important time management and commitment skills. I am looking for schools that will not only fit me athletically, but academically as well. I will be a good candidate for your program because I work hard when playing, I am determined and aggressive, and am a well rounded student. I not only have the skill to succeed on a college team, but I also am a good leader, really focused and I am determined to win. Playing soccer and other sports most of my life, I learn how be be a good leader and how to manage my time. I know, and have, what it takes to play on a college team!
