Playing college soccer has been a goal of mine since the age of five. I believe I would be a good addition to a college-level team because of my work ethic and drive to win. I absolutely hate to lose. For example, no matter what I am doing, I have always had a mindset of wanting to win, even if the situation is as simple as who can buckle their seatbelt faster or who can take the first bite of their meal at dinner. In addition to my desire to compete, I believe I have many unique characteristics both on and off the field. I have been told that I have a high soccer IQ and that I see the field well. I am also left footed, but have a strong right foot, so I can play both sides of the field. Lastly, I have the speed to beat my opponents to the ball.
In addition to the soccer skills I can offer a college team, I am also a good student. For high school, my main goal is to be inducted into the National Honors Society, which requires me to maintain a grade average of a 95% or above and help others in the community. One academic goal for college would be to make the Dean’s List. As a freshman in high school at this time, I am undecided on my major, but I enjoy sports statistics and I also adore working with children. Outside of school and sports, I am a coach at Shooting Stars, a voluntary program where I help children with special abilities compete in different sports. Through my hard work in school and in sports, my ability to be a team player and help others, my soccer skills, and my academic achievements so far, I believe I would be a good fit for a college soccer program.
