I am confident that I have a great deal to offer to your school, both on and off the soccer field. My PSAT scores put me in the 93rd percentile. My soccer achievements include being a freshman starter on Varsity, and being named to the all league team, Freshman and Sophomore years, in a highly competitive district. As a Sophomore, I received the Varsity Coaches Player of the Year Award and made the All Intelligencer Team.
My academic interests lie in the healthcare and sciences majors for college. I am highly driven, personable, and feel that I can connect with people at any age. All of my coaches have told me that I stand out because of two major things. The first is that I have a very long throw in, which my coaches have always considered a weapon. They believe my throws present the same opportunities as a corner kick. In addition to the distance, I have phenomenal accuracy, nearly always hitting close to the far post. Secondly, I have always been told that my work ethic is second-to-none. My coaches say that I never take a play off and leave everything on the field. I attribute this mostly to the fact that for the past year, I have been playing through a chronic pain condition called Amplified Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome. During this time, soccer was one of the very few places where that I could ignore the pain and continue to play at the high level expected of me. In June, 2015, I completed an intensive outpatient therapy program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for 8 hours a day for 4 weeks. During my treatment, I never missed a game. The whole experience left me with gratitude for every minute I have on the field. Because of this, I never take my playing time for granted and always give 110 percent. This work ethic has always been an important part of my character, in all aspects of my life.
I finished my freshman year with a 4.08 GPA in all honors classes. I was chosen by my coaches, teachers, and advisors as one of four female athletes to represent my school in an athletic leadership conference called "Captains' Practice", powered by the Live Like Blain Foundation. I was particularly honored because the foundation requested that most participants be seniors, and I am a sophomore. I am also involved in multiple extra curricular activities including Athletes Helping Athletes, Key Club, Student Government, and Academic Team. I was accepted into National Honor Society at the earliest possible date; in the fall of my sophomore year. I am a patient mentor at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to help other children with my pain syndrome. I thank you for taking the time to read this and view my profile. I would love to have you watch me play and to hear from you.
