Personal Statement

I have a deep passion for volleyball and have been playing since 7th grade.  I play for both Club (5 Years)  and School (6 years).

For the several months that neither are taking place, I stay in shape by working out at the gym and attending  many volleyball clinics, skills events and camps.   I have also done some one on one intense defense/passing sessions.    It is important to stay conditioned and stay relentless / dedicated to what you love.     I am a Leader both on and off the court who always plays at 100%.  My strong ethics,  determination,  enthusiasm and focus are contagious.   I believe that team members must encourage and support each other at all times.   Teams are most successful when team members share mutual respect and enjoy supporting each other and rooting each other on.

"Team work makes the dream work" is an expression my mother always used and now I fully understand and couldn't agree more.

I received the William Tennent HS Coach's Award my Freshman year 2018  and MVP award my Sophomore 2019 year, as well as being a team Captain at William Tennent.   Highline VBC Club Coach Award:   "The Rock" at the end of 2019 club season.  Sadly, all of us were affected at both school and club in the 2020 season due to Covid 19.

I am persistent and always have the attitude that "we can" / "we will" regardless of the score, I don't ever give up because I want success and the only way to succeed is by hard work.  I am a consistent player both defensively as well as solid serving of the ball.   I can honestly say that each year that I play, I continue to grow and improve.

My academics are of equal importance to me.  I have been able to balance both without either getting any less from me.  My goal is to have this continue throughout my college career:  to represent my college proudly playing volleyball as well as earning my Bachelor's Degree  (Business / Marketing / Communications ).

I appreciate you taking a look at my profile and considering me.

Maggie McGlynn  2022   L/DS
