Hi! My name is Riley. I can't believe I will be entering my senior year of high school in August. As a senior, I am extremely eager as well as emotional to have a year of "lasts" with both my 4A WPIAL North Allegheny Tigers high school team as well as with my Century GA Club team. Both teams are like family to me and I intend to practice, play, and bring my all every day to make this our most successful year ever!
Looking beyond 2022-2023, my dream of playing competitive college soccer at a high-achieving college has not wavered. If anything, it has only increased.
During my time playing Cup and High School soccer, I’ve been afforded the opportunity to play and contribute a lot. My coaches have demanded a lot, and I’ve been able to learn the different positions I’ve been asked to play, and have really found a home playing defense. I continue to train and work on my skills to contribute at center back, outside back, and/or holding mid. I work hard to see the whole field and take pride in finding opportunities to set up my teammates for success. I also don’t mind when I get the opportunity to unleash a shot or two now and again, everyone likes to score, but I take just as much pride in shutting down my opponents. I also love when I play against strong physical competition. When the game gets physical, I work even harder. I don’t like to be outworked in any situation.
My coaches and teammates will tell you that I am a hard worker. I push to get better every practice, training and game. I also push my peers to work and compete during trainings and game play. They will also tell you that I work just as hard to make sure there is ample time for laughs and humor. My teammates and coaches are part of my family. We talk daily even during the offseason.
Academically, I also apply the same attitude and drive I have on the field. I am a member of the gifted program and the National Honor Society at North Allegheny. As a senior, I do not plan on backing down in difficulty with my course load. I plan on taking several AP and Honors level courses to continue to challenge and push myself in order to prepare for my future and to reach my goal of having a big impact on our ever changing world.
I am very excited about the prospect of continuing my education at a high level academic institution while also getting to live out my dream of playing competitive soccer in college. Currently I am exploring my interests in math and science related majors such as Engineering or Medicine. I will be one of your hardest workers and help my team achieve our goals. Most importantly I will represent my school, my team, my coaches, and my family with the greatest of honor and respect.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I look forward to meeting you soon at an ID clinic and/or a showcase!
