Coach Endorsements:
-IVAN ILIJEVSKI, HEAD COACH, GPS RI:
"I can only say good things about Samantha as her coach. Every coach loves to have that kind of a player and personality in the team. She is very disciplined, hard working, not afraid of the physical contact, aggressive with solid speed and good technique. Very determined and ambitious, competitive level is very high. She is always focus during the practice and is willing to learn. Very versatile as well. Can play as striker, winger or attacking mid. "

-MARK PLATTS, HEAD COACH, SMITH COLLEGE/ EXACT SOCCER CAMP COACH:
"Very coachable player who was always willing to listen to instruction and advice. She was playing as a center forward for the games and was able to make dangerous runs into the channels and also dummy runs to create space for teammates. Learning to make runs across the lines will add to her overall impact as a forward and make her dangerous in the attacking third."

Soccer isn't just a sport for me; it's a passion. I have a goal to play for a competitively high level collegiate soccer program. I am seeking a school that will push me on the soccer field and more importantly in the academic arena.
I love the game and I want to play it competitively for as long as I possibly can. What makes me different isn't super fancy footwork, or the awesome ability to do flips while throwing the ball in, but my intense work ethic. I don't care who I am with or what level you're at, if you are playing against me you are going to have to work and give it everything you've got to beat me. I push myself and others around me, which plays into everything I do.
Academically I constantly encourage my teammates to keep their grades up, and offer to tutor them if they need extra help. My grades are good, but not perfect, and I feel that everyday I need to be just a little bit better than the day before both in the classroom, and on the soccer field. I am fortunate to be guided by my parents when it comes to setting goals, and working hard to achieve them. They work hard every day, and have shown me that success has to be earned. My aspirations academically are high, because my goal is to be a Physician's Assistant, and be the best in everything I do.
I feel that I would make a good candidate for your soccer program, because I feel that I am an intellectual, fast, physical, and aggressive player. I am not afraid of contact, and do all the small things needed to help a team win. I hustle from the first whistle until the last giving 100% effort in everything that I do. I am the ultimate team player, understand the need to draw defenders towards me to create space for my teammates. I enjoy getting an assist, or making a great defensive play just as much as I love to score. I feel that I use open space well, play the ball the way I face to an open teammate, and run good routes towards the goal. I have a good first and second touch, love the give and go, and overlap teammates well to find open space. I do well inside the box during set pieces by positioning my body properly against defenders, and have the ability to score with the header or the strike. I can strike with either foot making it hard for defenders to force me to one side. I may not be the best on the field at any one particular thing, but I feel that I am well-rounded.
Furthermore, the reason I'm different from the other recruits is because I'm ok with being a little quirky. I'm a leader, and not a follower, and enjoy just being myself. I love to make people laugh, and I love being part of a soccer "family." I promise that if you give me a chance to follow my dream in collegiate soccer, you won't regret it. I have never been afraid of a little hard work. My only goal in life is to live with no regrets, make tons of memories and to always laugh with the people I love while playing the game I fell in love with. Thank you for considering me for your soccer "family."
