Hello my name is Jillian Parenteau, I was born and raised in Rhode Island and currently live in a small town called West Greenwich. My town is very small and pretty much everybody knows everybody. Growing up I was known as the really fast girl with curly hair. My whole life I have been running, my dad is a track coach and has been for all 17 years of my life. During the summer and every school vacation I would go to his practices with him and watch everybody run and I always want to be fast like the older girls. Sports has been a huge part of my life, when I was three years old I started to play soccer and even though I started out picking flowers on the field I grew to love the beautiful game. Being a two sport athlete has really helped me become better in both sports. It has led me to become a leader and more knowledgeable about both soccer and track. I started playing soccer competitively with girls who were older than me and it was kind of intimidating but as the years went on we became a family and they made me a better player. This made going into high school soccer so much better because I knew I could keep up with the girls on varsity and I did all three years of high school being a starting varsity player. The decision to continue playing soccer in college was one of the easiest decision I’ve ever made. I knew that I never wanted to give up the sport because it was something that I actually knew how to do. Sometimes in school I didn’t know what we were doing in math or what we were reading in English but I always knew that when I went to a game or practice that I could cross the ball to the other side of the field to my teammates. I am a hard worker and a very coachable player. I pride myself on my kindness and ability to see the good in others. It would be my dream to be a student athlete in college and to continue my soccer career for as long as I can. Soccer has brought me the most joy in my life, and I can’t imagine who I would be without it.

"Jill is a very good player and even better person. Best thing about her is combination of her physical and technical abilities which are both very good. She can cover a lot of space on the field and that’s why she is capable of playing a lot of different positions but best place for her is winger. She is very nice team mate and it’s pleasure coaching her as she is very coachable too. Also she can use both feet equally good which is rare and big plus for her as a player. Overall Jill is amazing player and every coach would love to have her in his/her team."
