The hardest decision I've had to make about my future in soccer was between staying at the local club where all my friends played or going further away to a new club for an opportunity to better my skills and strengthen my potential to play at the collegiate level. I had played with these friends since I was three years old and would now most likely have to choose between playing with them and my soccer career. I went to tryouts for the new club, nervous that I wouldn't have the right skills to make this new team. At the end of tryouts three coaches came to talk to me about playing for their teams, including the coach for the club's premier level team. I had to make a decision, and I chose the path that would help me improve myself to achieve my goals.
I have now played at the premier level for three years and have made new connections with my coaches and teammates. Some of my unique abilities that I bring to a team are working with the people playing around me, making quick decisions, and knowing my teammates and my own weaknesses and strengths on the field. For these reasons I know I would be a great choice for a student athlete at your school!
