Hello Coaches,
My name is Gabriella (Gabby) and I have been playing club soccer since 2014. I am a rising Senior at James Island Charter High School. I’ve been on the Varsity team since freshman year and I have been playing for SC United FC in Columbia on the ECNL National Team (U16) since 2021. Here is a timeline of my accomplishments:
June 2014 - Moved to Charlestons SC and started playing Club soccer with James Island Youth Soccer Club’s (JIYSC).
June 2017 - Through my involvement with JIYSC, I got invited to play with the Elite Global Premier Soccer (GPS) team. With this organization, I truly evolved as a player as I got to play in multiple off-season games, tournaments, ID, and Showcase events with other high-caliber players from all around the USA. I was invited again in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
January 2019 and 2020 - Chosen to be part of GPS National Team. I played in the Gothia Cup in Sweden in 2019. In 2020 I was selected to play in California at the Surf Cup but due to COVID-19 it was unfortunately canceled, but I am still very grateful I had the opportunity to be selected.
January 2021 - Selected as a Freshman and a starter on the wing of the James Island Charter High School 4A Varsity Team. At the end of the high school season, I amassed a total of 17 goals and multiple assists. We won the State Championship in the 4 AAAA division.
March 2021 - Made a big decision to move to an ECNL Club in Columbia SC (South Carolina United FC). Our team played in a couple of big showcases in Tennessee and San Diego. With my participation on the ECNL National Team, I have learned a new style of play, speed, and pressure and also make use of my travel time (6 hours per week) for school work and balancing it all. We qualified for the Seattle Tournament in June 2022.
May 2021 - Invited to play in ODP Regional.
January 2022 - Made the James Island Charter High School 4AAAA Varsity Team for a 2nd year.
February 2022 - Invited to represent SC United FC in the Super Cup National Selection Program (March 5-6 2022 Event in Greer, SC).
May 2022 - James Island Charter High School 4AAAA Varsity State Champs. Named Offensive MVP by my teammates, and Voted All-Region and All-State Player by the coaches of South Carolina.
May 2022 - Invited to play in ODP Regional for the 2nd year in a row.
January 2023 - Made the James Island Charter High School 4AAAA Varsity Team for a 3rd year.
May 2023 - James Island Charter High School 4AAAA Varsity Lower State Champs. Named All-Region and All-State Player by the coaches of South Carolina. Named Offensive MVP by my team mates 2nd year in a row.
On the field, I am someone who leads and encourages my teammates positively. I am asked to take corners and free kicks, and I take coaching seriously. When it is time to play, I communicate with my teammates, I have an excellent understanding of the game, I am creative, I have strong legs and I hold nothing back!
I am enrolled in 2 IB classes (international baccalaureate program.) Last year I learned to manage my time so that I get my work done and maintain high averages and hope to apply the same skills so that I can continue to perform in Columbia and at school. Whether at school or on the field, I am putting all the chances on my side to be as successful as I can be so all options are open when I am ready for college.
P.S.: I am fully bilingual (English and French)
