My name is Ella Donahue and I am currently going into my junior year at Springfield High School. I’ve lived in Vermont my whole life, and despite its lack of exposure to soccer I discovered my love for the sport very quickly. I began playing soccer in first grade, then in fourth grade I switched over to club. I played for the club Lightning up until this year when I switched to FC Stars (New Hampshire). My sophomore year I made the New Hampshire ODP team and I intend to play for them again this year. In the past year and a half I’ve experienced so many things I haven’t before. I’ve been the new kid on the team, I’ve been the player who was not as skilled as everyone else, and I’m beyond grateful for it because I’ve seen myself grow as a player. I know that I would love to play soccer in college, and I welcome that challenge. I want to continue to struggle, persevere, and grow doing the thing that I love.
More about me: I have a family of four plus one dog, my older brother is currently enrolled in the army. Minus soccer, I spend most of my free time with friends, occasionally walking my dog, or reading (unless I’m in a book slump). In addition to soccer, I participate in both indoor and outdoor track. My favorite event is the 200 meter dash, and I’m more so forced to run the 400. I’m still figuring out what career I want to pursue, but I have considered journalism. To be completely honest, I am still unsure of what I want my future to look like. However, I can confidently say that I want to play soccer in college, and it would be a privilege to have that opportunity.
