I have been playing soccer since the age of 9. When I started playing, I began watching players like Tim Howard, Manuel Neuer, and David De Gea, who showed me how wonderful goalkeeping is. I didn’t realize I wanted to be a keeper until I watched Tim Howard make a save, diving across the goal to save a penalty kick, that I thought: “I want to do that.”
From that point on, I trained everyday to learn the art of goalkeeping, and to be the best.
Today I am a freshman and I am my high school’s varsity starting goalkeeper, as well as a starting keeper for my club team. Additionally, I am an ODP West district keeper.
Throughout my life, soccer has been the thing that I have turned to when I was upset, or stressed. Soccer has also taught me many important lessons, such as hard work, and perseverance.
I truly love the game, and I have a drive that pushes me to constantly improve and be the best. It would be a dream come true to play at the collegiate level.
