Personal Statement

Hello,

I am Cailey Ridgeway, class of 2025.  I am a versatile, tough, hardworking athlete. I continue to play multiple positions, but will mostly be seen playing forward, wing and/or outside back.

I have played organized soccer since age 4, moving into club (RCL) at age 8.  I was a founding member of the Washington State EPD team for G07s, playing keeper and forward for two years.  I have been a starter for Varsity since my Freshman year and am proud to say my team made it to the sweet 16, the elite 8 and then the sweet 16 of State three years in a row.  (for Peninsula HS and Gig harbor HS).  I am proud of my versatility and believe I am best known for my on field intensity.  I practice like I play (hard), and I believe leadership is best displayed through example, both on and off the field.  My work ethic is my strongest attribute and I do not quit, whether it’s on the pitch or school.  I understand that there will be setbacks and frustrations, and there will ALWAYS be mistakes, but I believe that practice makes perfect and I will not stop until have reached my full potential.

Outside of soccer, I strive to excel as a student. This is my Junior year and my goal is to maintain a 3.4 or better GPA.  I have an interest in athletic/exercise science and law  but understand that there are many choices out there and I look forward to exploring my options further in college.

Thank you for taking the time to review my profile.
