EMMA SPENCE Socce...Personal Statement
My name is Emma Spence and I’m a junior at Lakeside High School in Nine Mile Falls, Washington (graduating class of 2021). Along with playing a 7 and a 10 on the EW Surf WNPL '03 team, guest playing for the EW Surf '00 WNPL team in Spokane, I play a 10 and a 9 on Lakeside High School’s varsity soccer team. This will be my 10th year playing soccer and 7th year of club. This summer, my EW Surf '03 team placed 1st in the NPL Nationals! I’m number 16. I’m a starter and typically play the entire game.
Not only do I love soccer, but I appreciate a great education. My goals for college are to play soccer and to attain a medical degree.
I’m not just hoping to get into medical school, I back-up my dream with incredible grades (accumulative 4.0, weighted 4.2), accelerated classes, extra curricular academic activities and sports. I’m in the top 1% academically in my class, scored a 277 on my math MAP test (highest in my school/grade) and I’m involved with National Honors Society, ASB (class president 2018/19 and class treasurer 2019/20), DECA and Destination Imagination (a STEAM program). My DI team placed 1st in the world at Globals Finals this spring! We placed at State 4 of the 5 years and qualified for Globals three times in 5 years! I’ve also been ‘Eagle of the Year’ (student of the year) at Lakeside Middle School two years in a row.
I know my tenacity and determination will follow me through to college.
I will be attending various showcases and tournaments on the west coast this year.
