My name is Abby Barki, and I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember, and loving it for equally as long. Sports are a huge part of my life, in particular soccer, and when not I am not competing, I feel like something is missing. I believe I am a triple threat at midfield in that I have a strong skill set in dribbling, shooting, and in particular, passing. However, I think my strongest attributes as a player are my defensive tenacity and my ability to see the field. If there is space on the field, I can find it; whether it be with my feet or by making a timely pass, all before most players see the opening. I believe I do the little things that make a team better, and have always played my best in the biggest games and against the best competition. Because of this, I believe that I can play at any level, and hope to find a college where I can thrive athletically and academically.
My favorite subject in school has always been science and I want to go into the medical field. If I continue on my current academic path, I believe I match up academically with most selective/competitive schools. As such, a primary attribute I will be looking for in a college is a strong pre-med program that can help me reach my career goals. It is my greatest hope that I can continue my soccer career for as long as possible, and find a college that allows me to do what I love while working towards achieving the dreams I have for my future.
