Layla Tadlock '27 Recruiting Profile

My name is Layla Tadlock. I am a Career and College Academy sophomore in Elkhorn, WI. I am concurrently enrolled in high school and college classes at the local technical college. By the time I complete my high school coursework, I will graduate with an associate's degree. The Career and College Academy students participate on the Elkhorn Area High School sports teams. 

I am also a foster sister and the middle child in a large family. This has taught me the importance of compassion and helping others. I love to train hard and be physically active. I also play tennis, lettered in powerlifting twice, and qualified for the state championships as a freshman during the soccer off-season.

I'm all about working hard, progressing, and getting coached. I am late to the game, so to speak, in regards to competing at elite levels, but I have worked very hard the last three years and have made a lot of progress. Making the 2009 ODP team as a midfielder the past two years after being cut in my first year of trying out. I am now competing on the highest club-level team for SC WAVE in our state, competing a year ahead of my birth year with the 2008 GA team, primarily as a forward and midfielder, but I play defensive positions when needed. I am flexible and willing to play wherever the coach needs me. I have made the varsity high school team as a freshman and have started as a striker and wing (7/11). Now in my sophomore season, I am a striker and rarely get subbed out, but my coach has assigned me to mark the opponent's top player in a number of games, as I am an excellent on-ball defender and very fast.  While designated as a mark, I have not given up an assist or a goal. I was recognized as an all-conference forward by the Southern Lakes Conference coaches this season.

I am very open to attending school anywhere in the country. I want to pursue a career that does not involve office work, and my academics will allow me to attend any institution in the country.
