I have been in the water since I was 3 years old. My grandmother was the APRA diving champion for 5 consecutive years, from 1958-1962, and has always been one of my biggest supporters in and out of the water. She has motivated me to become a seven time 1-5A AHSAA state champion in multiple swimming events. Through swimming I have learned that I am very goal oriented and driven individual and currently hold the AHSAA 1-5A 100 backstroke record. I also teach swimming lessons to children from the local community and life guard at the community pool. I look forward to any opportunities that allow me to continue my passion for swimming and continue to grow at the collegiate level.
College, though, is an opportunity for me to not only grow athletically but personally and intellectually as well. I hope to become Valedictorian of my high school class and continue to maintain a high GPA as I pursue an accounting degree throughout my college career. I am actively involved in school and community events, clubs, and leadership opportunities. College would allow me to continue my community involvements in a new and expanding role.
Throughout my college career, I will continue to strive for new records and conduct myself in a manner that is not only honorable and respectful to myself but also my team and school that I attend.
