Carsen Culiver '22 Recruiting Profile

I began swimming competitively when I was 8 years old, and I have been passionate about it ever since. The satisfaction and joy I receive from my hard work and achieving my goals are unmatched. Swimming has taught me so many valuable lessons, including persevering instead of giving up, being willing to fail in order to accomplish greater success later, and trusting the process. 

I put 110% into all of my swimming because I believe in giving all I have for something I am committed to. Not only am I dedicated to swim, but also to my studies. With a 3.6 unweighted GPA and a 3.9 weighted, I take my work in the classroom seriously. I am a part of the National Honor Society, Society of Women Scholars, and the Spanish National Honor Society. Along with my devotion to swim and school, I also serve as a mentor to a group of freshmen each year. 

I have had two successful high school swim seasons thus far. My freshman year I was awarded Girls Team MVP along with placing 4th in both the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, as well as the 200 IM relay, in which we broke the school record. My sophomore year I earned Girls Team MVP once again along with placing 4th in the 100 breaststroke where I broke the school record, 3rd in the 200 IM relay where we broke our school record, and then 7th in the 200 IM.

I look forward to a collegiate swim experience where I can contribute all that I have to my team.
