I’ve been swimming competitively since I was 9 years old. I practiced under olympian Kristine Quance. I was recently named varsity girls co-captain at Covina High School after only being at that high school for a year.
When i’m not swimming, i’m studying or doing something artsy. My best academic subjects are history and english. I enrolled in drama in my senior year because I feel that it’s important to broaden your horizons and push yourself out of your comfort zone.
I also am the secretary for a club at Covina High called Active Minds where we specialize in breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health. I have also coordinated fundraisers for Active Minds at our home swim meets to raise awareness and attendance for the swim team.
I bring a different kind of leadership to swimming. I lead by example rather then telling my team what to do. It’s broadly more affective and gives the team freedom while also setting a standard of excellence.
Thank you for your time.
