I started swimming on a summer league team when I was 5 years old. I immediately found a love for the sport and always looked forward to practice. I loved racing the older kids and challenging myself to do the harder set or swim with the the higher group. As I started breaking team records, I decided that I wanted to continue with swimming to see how great I could become.
I joined the JCC Waves when I was 6 years old and right away became inspired. The swimmers in the top group seemed so fast and I wanted nothing more than to be like them. I worked every day to become faster and I grew to love the process. I learned how to balance swim and school while succeeding at both. Because of swimming, I am able to face every challenge with ease and confidence.
I moved to Aquazot Swim Club when I was thirteen years old. On Aquazot, I became even more motivated, as many swimmers on the team had National time standards and Olympic Trial cuts. I started getting my splits in practice on every set and loved feeling myself becoming stronging and watching my times become faster. Soon after, I got my first sectional which inspired me to work even harder and eventually I got my Futures cut. Only then did I start to feel like the swimmers that I looked up to when I was little. But I have never been satisfied with my swimming, for every time drop makes me wonder how much faster I could go. When I got my first JOs, my goal became sectionals. When I got my first sectional, my goal became Fututes. Now that I have my Futures, I want Junior Nationals and Nationals. I want to continue my swim journey and spend my college experience with people who share the same passion as me and contine to show myself how fast I can be.
