Swimming has been an important part of my life, and my love of the sport has been present ever since I joined my local recreational team as an 8 year old. The challenge of sports has encouraged me to learn important life skills. Being a multi sport athlete has taught me how to manage my time and prioritize what is meaningful to me. I played soccer until age 13, and have been skiing since age 2. At age 13 I decided to commit my time to improving in swim. Playing sports from a young age helped me learn the importance of responsibility not only for myself, but my team as well.
In the pool, my strongest stroke is freestyle, specifically sprint. In the spring of 2019 I qualified for the North Coast Section High School swim meet in my 50 freestyle. I am striving towards qualifying for NCS and CIF in multiple events. I am currently in the process of improving my backstroke as well.
My goal is to swim for a Division 1 team as I complete my college education. If you wish to know more about my personal life, follow me on instagram! @skyler_horder
