From the age of 4, the water has been my first love and second home. It welcomed me from the beginning and there I found my true identity. I can truthfully say that my drive comes from beneath the surface of the water. Even at such a young age, I had already figured out my outlet and what I want to do for the rest of my life. As a swimmer, I know what it feels like to spend years of your life trying to beat the clock. I know what it is like to have your lungs screaming, muscles burning, and heart pounding. And I know what it is like to struggle and never give up.
I enjoy all types of water sports, and from each one, I have learned a specific character trait about myself. Water Polo brought out my aggressive side and taught me true determination. Rowing taught me to push through the pain and have complete confidence in my teammates. Scuba Diving taught me to be adventurous and take risks. Above all, swim has been the momentum of my life. I am proud to be the "Team Mom" and driving force. The pinnacle of my career was swimming anchor in the 2019 Spring JOs for the 400 IM relay.
While maintaining a 4.0 GPA, I have been highly involved in the community. In the past, I was a Girl Scout for five years and a museum docent for three years. Currently, I am the President of Archery Club and Club Koinonia at my school. I love all things that pertain to music, including participating in the VCGSRC (Ventura County Gilbert and Sullivan Repertoire Company), playing in the TPCS Concert Band (French Horn) and taking private piano lessons. Lastly, I have studied at The Master's University as a dual-enrollment student.
For me butterfly has never been a punishment, it has always been my favorite stroke. At my last meet, my coach convinced me to swim the 200 Fly, every swimmers worst nightmare. I ended up falling in love with this event and I look forward to pursuing it. I am a goal-oriented, motivational, and passionate swimmer. Quitting is not in my vocabulary. I strive to be the best I can be in and out of the water. My life verse is Philippians 4:13.
