I just recently started swimming full time in May of 2019, so this year is my first year swimming full time. This past year I have had a lot of breakthroughs with my swimming, I got my futures cut in my 50 free both long and short course and I have dropped a significant amounts in all of my events.
I am someone who will always put my team before myself, I will always cheer for my team no matter when I will be swimming next, and if a younger teammate is having trouble and needs some help, I guide them in what we are doing and I make sure they are on pace with the rest of the team. I also will always swim faster on a relay than for myself, for example, and sectionals in March, in the 4 x 100 relay I swam about 3 tenths faster on the relay than I did in my individual that morning.
This year was my first year to do high school swimming, and sadly I only got to go to two meets, but I was able to enjoy the experience and learn more about it. I think that high school swimming is very different from club swimming, the atmosphere and team spirit make it a very different team environment. Even though we were only able to have two meets, I was able to meet kids that I would never have met, and also help led and mentored teammates who had never swam before.
