Caralea Holmberg '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Caralea Holmberg, I am currently a Senior at Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado. I am looking for a college/university that will support my dreams and desires to swim at the collegiate level and become a physician by finding a school that will support me in attaining these goals with a good swim program and academics for a pre-med biology degree. My passion for swimming started at a young age by first getting in the water at the age of 4 and quickly completing each level of advancement. This led me to try out at the age of 6 for my summer swim league pre-team, but my backstroke was already good enough to qualify me for the regular team in 8 and unders. I then continued competing on my summer swim league team for 10 more years, and during this time I received various awards such as 3rd high point at summer swim league district championships and MVP on my team in my age group of 15-18 years olds when I was 15. I also received a most improved award at 14 years old. I have also been awarded many high places at specialized meets such as hot shot/ long shot and pentathlons. At the age of 14 I decided to further my passion of swimming and join a year round club team in the fall of 2018. I also joined my high school's swim team as a freshman and received a most improved award that year. I then qualified for 5A State in my 100 backstroke freshman, sophomore, and junior year, and my school won State while I was a freshman and sophomore and took 2nd my junior year. I continue to improve my times each season and I am already looking forward to next season to see how much I can improve.
