Hi there, I am Zoe Afman, a senior at Addenbrooke Classical Academy in Lakewood, Colorado.
I started swimming at the age of 11, and I am entering my sixth season of competitive swimming, and third year of Varsity swim for Dakota Ride High School.
My collegiate goals are challenging myself to become the best athlete that I can be while getting a quality education so that I can set myself up well for my future.
I am very self-motivated in academics and athletics, committed to achieving my goals, coachable, success-driven, and competitive. I challenge myself to go past my limits and achieve new goals. I value my family, faith, friends, and my mentors in life. I enjoy meeting new people and going new places, I love being apart of a team and I am fortunate enough to have all of the support and love that comes along with it.
I am looking for a school that I can contribute to with my athletics and academics, and that can contribute my values in life not only in college, but my life after graduation.
What makes me different from the rest in athletics is my motivation, I always want to get better. Even after a bad race or a bad meet, I always want to come back stronger from it and learn from my mistakes.
As an introvert, school has been very hard for me to adapt to, but within the last few years I have been able to branch out and do things out of my comfort zone, which has made high school more enjoyable. I want to set myself up for a successful future by getting good grades, and getting myself ahead for my college experience- I took the opportunity my sophomore year to start taking college classes at my local community college, I am set to graduate high school with over 30 credits.
While being extremely motivated for success, I have taken time to slow myself down and realize the important things in life, like actually enjoying it. I am always ready for a challenge and able to keep myself accountable. I am apart of a Missional Community through my church which allows me to help others in need, and shows me all the things I have to be grateful for. It has helped me become more compassionate, loving, humble, and accepting.
