I started swimming when I was young. I didn't get a chance to swim competitively for a few years, until I was a Sophomore in high school. And even though I am rarely the fastest swimmer, I still show up. If I am not swimming I am shouting and cheering for the kids on my team and the end of the lanes. Often times the day after meets I lose my voice partially. I always show up for the team and myself. I even went to a two hour practice on my birthday when it was -30 outside. However I don't let my commitment to the team or 10+ hours of practice a week throw off my schooling. I have finished every school year with either honors or high honors and I am a part of the National Honors Society and the National Foreign Language Honors Society. I take all honors level classes and achieve above 90% in a majority of them.
