Personal Statement

I have been swimming since I was five years old and have loved the sport from the second I jumped in the water. The swimming community has strengthened me physically and mentally as a person and I don't know who I would be without this sport.

I believe what sets me apart from other athletes is my perspective on both swimming and life in general. I am a very enthusiastic and optimistic person and believe it makes me who I am. I am always the one cheering on the pool deck and even after a bad swim I try and look for the light in the situation, if this means finding something to work on or applauding what went well.

In the future, I would love to be able to help people and use my enthusiasm to inspire others, especially on a collegiate-level swim team!
