My name is Victoria and I am on the Azura Florida Aquatics swim team. My main stroke is butterfly and I am the only one on my team that swims it, as well as on every relay. I work hard on my swimming as well as in my education to make sure I get into the University. What I am looking for is studing Marine Biology as my major. I would really love to get into a division 1 or 2 swim team, representing my future college is one of my dreams. I am a good candidate because I work very hard on my swimming, especially in my butterfly and I am also a determined person who wants to make sure that her stroke is where it should be. I am a person who likes to learn new things and apply them to my life, as a person, as a swimmer, and as a student. I used to swim back in Argentina, where I am originally from. I learned how to swim when I was 2 years old and when I started attending school, at the age of 4, I went to a swimming center with my school teachers, where I learnt to swim the four strokes. I have always looked forward to spend my days in the water. When I moved to the USA, I asked my mom that I wanted to continue my swimming so she took me to the YMCA to try out. I was asked to join the swim team and of course I accepted immediately. That is when and where I discovered the competing side of swimming. When my swimming became one of my top priorities, I started watching the Olympics and I saw Michael Phelps who became my role model, but not just in swimming, but as in life generally. No words can describe the attachment that I feel and have with swimming. What makes me different from other recruits in my character, I am a very unique person who never gives up and continues to push through until she meets her goal. In my athletic side, I am different from other recruits because my second main event is the 200 fly, and that is something that not just anyone can swim and feels comfortable to do. In my academics, I am also different from some other recruits because I am attending a Magnet school in Marine Science, where I take all honor classes and what means that I am already studying what it will be my major at College and I take the Cambridge Program, with classes that are college level and that the final exams are send to England and are approved by the Cambridge University. I can speak English, Spanish and a basic French (this is my third year taking French at school and I was awarded by Broward County Public Schools with a second place in "World Languages Academic Competition" ). I am a proud member of the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars, the Shark Club at my school where I am the president and I've been nominated for the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence on November 2017.
