I would like to find a collegiate team that is the right fit for me. This includes athletes that enjoy each other’s company while working hard toward a team goal. My fondest memories have been from swim meets and at the pool during practice. Some highlights of my swimming career were winning districts and regionals with my high school swim team this past year. Our girls team even took third at the Florida State Championship, and I contributed significant points toward this in my individual events and the relays. The previous year our team could not even win districts. I believe swimming is most enjoyable when the entire team can rally together and support each other. I hope to find a college team where I can contribute.
Being involved in the sport of swimming has taught me many lessons, including knowing when to have fun and when to get down to business. I find that I am drawn to people who have this mindset because I am the same way. I can make someone laugh behind the blocks before a race, and then turn around and cheer for them while they swim. Up to this point, the hard work that I have put in has allowed me to swim at a variety of national meets. These include two YMCA Nationals, a Futures Championship, Winter and Summer Junior Nationals and, this past December, the United States Open.
The combination of hard work and enjoyment also applies to my studies. From an early age, I have had a passion for learning new things every day. I maintain a special interest in Math and Science and hope to pursue these in my career path. In my college choice, I am looking for an exciting academic experience, where I can push myself.
