My name is Desi and one of my main goals is to go to a college where I can get the proper education but also enjoy my collegiate years as a swimmer. I am 16 years old and I am in my 5th year of swimming. I am a senior, and my favorite and best stroke is butterfly. I have qualified for State Championships a total of 4 times thus far, each time qualifying in 100 butterfly. Freshman year, I got 8th in the state, and last year (junior year) I got 6th in the state with a time of 59.12 in 100 butterfly, although I swam a 58 in prelims. I did qualify for 3 other events junior year, but I did not make it to finals for those three. I have broken a total of 7 school records since my high school swimming career started. Along with that, I have received awards such as the coaches award, the athlete of the month award, GHSSCA honorable mention award, and the highest points award. I swim at Swim Atlanta and my high school team. For academics, I am taking honors classes and I always try my best just like in swimming. Outside of swimming and school, I work at Marble Slab and Fergusons on the Square.
