Swimming has been a very big part of my life since I was five years old. I began swimming in the summers for my neighborhood swim team for a few years and then joined my club team, Southern Cresent Aquatic Team, when I realized I wanted to grow as a swimmer. Since a young age, I have greatly enjoyed getting a personal best time or winning a heat/event. This has triggered my very coachable personality and my drive to improve by working hard at practices and meets. Because of this, I would love nothing more than to pursue my passion and swim at the collegiate level. I have been on the Varsity Swim Team at Mcinotsh High school for 3 years. All three of those years I have qualified for the state meet in the 200 freestyle relay, finishing second two years in a row and finishing 10th in 2018. In 2019, I also swam the freestyle leg of the 200 medley relay finishing 6th overall. This past year, I qualified in the 200 free relay, 200 medley relay, 50 free, and 100 free.
In addition to swimming competitively at the collegiate level, I would like to be challenged academically as well. I have taken many rigor classes throughout high school such as several AP classes, gifted classes, and college dual enrollment classes at Clayton State Univerity during the upcoming school year. As well as challenging academic classes and swimming competitively during the school year, I also play recreational and JV soccer for my high school, resulting in extra conditioning for swimming. This has taught me how to manage my time well with a healthy balance in sports and school, preparing me to be a college student-athlete. During the last 3 summers, I have coached swimming for my neighborhood swim team with ages ranging from 4-18. I also give private swim lessons.
My lifelong passion for swimming has resulted in my growth as a person. I look forward to communicating with coaches in the near future and finding the college where I will continue my education in academics and swimming.
